If you think willpower is something that you have endlessly, you are mistaken.
It is a finite resource and fades out if not correctly used.
Stuck between goal and action?
Time to offload the cognitive effort of decision-making with if-then psychology.
By pre-deciding how you would act in a specific scenario, you can do much more and reach your goals faster.
Follow these steps to program your behaviour.
Identify the Trigger: You need to pinpoint the exact location, time of the day or event that consistently occurs. For example, "When I sit at my desk..."
Define the Action: Choose the exact micro habit that you want to perform right after the trigger. For example, "... I will open my writing software"
Script the Loop: Here is the magic, write down in this format, "If [Trigger], then I will [Action]"
Rehearse Mentally: Visualize this sequence vividly at least three times to prime your neural pathways.
This way, when the trigger happens, your brain will execute the action automatically bypassing the hesitation entirely.
